Why Therapeutic Trampoline?

The Therapeutic Trampoline Course teaches pediatric therapists how to safely and intentionally use the trampoline and the surrounding environment to support regulation, engagement, communication, and movement.

This course is not about trampoline skills, tricks, or gymnastics.

Therapeutic trampolining means using:

movement

rhythm

positioning

physical support

and the trampoline environment as clinical tools to reach functional goals — across a wide range of diagnoses and support needs.

This course gives you a clear, ethical, and evidence-informed framework so you can use a trampoline in therapy with confidence.

What is Therapeutic Trampoline?

Therapeutic trampolining is the intentional use of the trampoline and its surrounding environment to support functional, regulatory, motor, and communication goals in pediatric therapy.

Unlike sport-based trampoline or adaptive gymnastics programs, therapeutic trampolining is not focused on skill acquisition, form, or performance.

The emphasis is on:

how movement is experienced

how the nervous system responds

how the body organizes against gravity

and how engagement, regulation, and function emerge through play

Movement may occur on the trampoline bed, around the trampoline, or through therapist-supported positioning, depending on the needs of the child.

This approach allows therapists to work with:

children who require significant physical support

children developing postural control, strength, and transitions

children building regulation, engagement, and communication

children with complex motor, sensory, or neurological needs

The trampoline becomes a therapeutic environment, not a task to master.
